Shane Carther Thomas

Capistrano CA Student

Shane is a 14-year-old eighth grader at Capistrano Connections Academy (CapoCA).  He lives in Los Angeles, California. As a young actor, singer, musician, songwriter and dancer in Hollywood, he works hard to achieve all the goals he sets for himself in the performing arts.

Shane Carther began acting in 2007 and can currently be seen in several video productions. In 2008, Shane picked up a guitar for the first time and discovered his first love... music. Already a singer, Shane Carther turned his focus to music, teaching himself to play guitar and piano, studying music theory, and writing his own songs. Since then, there’s hardly been a day that goes by where he can’t be heard singing and playing his music. He can often be seen playing at venues throughout Hollywood and is currently writing and recording his first full length album. In addition to music and acting, Shane Carther spends several days a week studying dance and is an active member of the Rage Boyz Crew hip-hop dance team. Some of Shane Carther’s other hobbies include drawing and playing chess.

In his first year as a Connections student, Shane Carther loves the school and the opportunity to be self-sufficient in his studies. He loves interacting with his different teachers and exploring different methods of learning. Connections has provided a great way for Shane to maintain a tough work ethic in school while still allowing flexibility in his schedule to pursue all of his performance dreams.

In particular, Shane loves the opportunity to use his creative energy to create PowerPoint slideshow for presentation to his classmates in the interactive LiveLesson® sessions; Shane says, “I love making PowerPoint presentations… being creative, using different pictures, and telling stories the way I find them interesting!”
