Dr. Jonathan Horowitz knows firsthand that the classroom can be a place of excitement and wonder. For twenty years, he introduced public high school students to the joys of physics, chemistry, and math. Then, as a high school administrator, Director of Student Services at Capistrano Unified School District, and a Board member of Connections Academy, he applied that experience and his own doctoral research to foster higher student achievement in public schools.
Dr. Horowitz believes CenCA can and does bring the joy of learning into the virtual classroom. “When you deliver great teachers and an outstanding curriculum straight to the student’s home, you set the stage for success. There are no crowded classrooms, overlooked students, or tattered textbooks at Connections Academy—just the daily excitement of individualized learning in the best possible environment.”
Dr. Horowitz holds a B.A. in biology from California State University-Northridge, a Master’s in public health from UCLA, and a joint doctorate in education administration from University of California-Irvine and UCLA.
