About Us
Capistrano Connections Academy (CapoCA) is an independent study, non-classroom-based charter school that serves students in grades K–12. The school opened in August 2004. Students residing in southern California throughout Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties are eligible to attend the school if they meet applicable enrollment requirements.
CapoCA is authorized under state law by the Capistrano Unified School District. The school is operated by the Capistrano Connections Academy Charter School, a nonprofit corporation, through a contract with Connections Academy, LLC, to provide its educational program and other services. The school is governed by an independent Board of Directors and all meetings are open to the public. Please review our scheduled meeting dates, agendas, and information on how to attend a meeting or make a request for public records.
Capistrano Connections Academy is fully accredited for Grades K-10 and has provisional accreditation for grades 11-12 pending a successful accreditation visit during the 2008-2009 school year by the Schools Commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Central California Connections Academy is fully accredited (grades K-12) by the Schools Commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
