Technology

CenCA households will generally need to provide their own computer, printer, and Internet service. Please check to be sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements.

Central California Connections Academy families may receive the following:

  • Households must provide their own computer and printer unless they request and qualify for a technology hardship exception*. Households that qualify for a hardship exception will receive one desktop computer and monitor per household. View a description of our standard desktop systems.
  • Subsidy for Internet service: Households must provide their own Internet connection unless they request and qualify for a technology hardship exception*. Households that qualify will receive an Internet subsidy of $50.85 while actively at the time of disbursement. Payments are made three times a year: the first week of December, the first week of March and the first week of June. Families not enrolled for the entire payment period will receive a pro-rated payment. Subsidies are not available during the summer months.

We also offer comprehensive technical support for the systems we provide and complete information on proper usage of hardware and software.

Using Your Own Equipment

If you use your own computer, be sure your system meets our minimum system requirements. All families must supply their own printer

* Households must apply for hardship exceptions when they enroll. To qualify, they must meet federal guidelines for free or reduced lunch and not have access to any hardware being requested. There are a limited number of hardship exceptions available, and qualification under Federal low-income guidelines does not guarantee a hardship exception will be provided
